Begin in the learner’s account
Sit together and have the learner open Guildha in the account they use for their course. Check the profile before beginning, especially on a shared device. An activity completed in your own account does not become their progress.
This guide is for helping alongside a learner in their lesson. It does not require a separate Family workspace or give you access to another person’s account. Keep passwords and sign-in codes private.
Open GuildhaChoose one available activity
From the course selector, open a course the learner has already joined, then choose an available lesson on its path. Locked lessons cannot be opened yet. Read or listen to the introduction together and ask what the activity wants them to do.
Let the learner choose and explain their answer. You can help read or use the controls. Where Check is shown, it submits the answer; selecting an option alone does not. Read the feedback together before moving on.
Help them find their next step
Start with what they have tried and the part that feels unclear. The questions below are conversation starters you can adapt together.
In the lesson, tap the Guardian to see the available actions. Ask for a tip, Explain my mistake and Open our conversation may be offered, depending on the activity. Read the response, compare it with the question, and let the learner try the next step. If an explanation seems wrong, ask for clarification.
A question to keep going.Choose the moment you’re in.What is the activity asking you to find?
Can you explain what I need to do, without solving it for me?
Conversation starters · Use your own words. Nothing here is sent to a Guardian.
Bring their working into the conversation
If the steps are on paper, help the learner take a clear photo of the question and the relevant working. When Share my work or Photo of your work is available, choose an image up to 8 MB. Review the preview before sharing; selecting a photo does not send it.
After it is read, compare the recognised words and symbols with the page. Clarify anything that was read incorrectly. If photo sharing is unavailable, type the relevant steps instead. Asking about a photo does not submit an answer or complete the lesson.
End with one thing they can explain
Ask the learner to tell you one thing that makes more sense now. After finishing the lesson, review its summary and choose Continue to return to the learning path. If you stop earlier, use Close lesson; leaving early is different from completing it.
To look at skills together, the learner can open More → Profile → Your skill tree. Course completion and skill progress describe different things. An earned crown level and how well a skill is remembered are also different; the skill-tree guide below explains them.
When the problem is access or loading
Check that the learner is signed in to the account that joined the course. Try an available lesson from its path. If a Guardian reply or photo fails, use the retry action shown; a failed request is not feedback on the learner’s answer.
If it still fails, tell support the course, lesson, page address and message you see. You do not need to send a password, sign-in code or the learner’s work in your initial enquiry. Questions about family-specific access can also go to support.
