Share your work with a Guardian
Bring the steps on your page into the conversation, one photo at a time.
In this guide5 sections
Start in your lesson
Open the lesson you are working on and tap your Guardian. When Share my work is available, choose it to select a photo. You can also open the conversation and use the camera control, labelled Photo of your work, when it is shown.
The actions depend on the current activity. If you do not see a photo control, type the relevant steps and your question in the conversation instead. This guide covers photos of your work in a lesson, not importing a document to create a course.
Make your working easy to read
Photograph the question and the steps you want help with. Keep the page flat, use even light, and move close enough for the words and symbols to be clear. Leave a little space around the working so nothing is cut off.
Choose an image of up to 8 MB. The photo control does not accept a PDF or other document file. If your source is a PDF, use a clear image of the relevant part. Include only the material needed for your question.
Keep the question and your steps together, with a small margin around the edges.

Review the photo before sharing
Selecting a file adds a preview to the conversation; it does not send it yet. Check the image and filename. If it is the wrong photo, choose Remove photo and select another one.
When it is ready, choose Share my work on the photo preview. Reading your photo means the image is being processed. Wait for that step to finish before trying again.
Check what your Guardian understood
After the photo is read, the recognised working is sent into the conversation for your Guardian to respond to. Check the words, numbers and symbols against your page. If something was read incorrectly, clarify it in a follow-up message.
Ask about one point at a time: “I got this far. Can you help me understand the next step?” Then return to the activity and try it. Sharing a photo is a request for help; it does not submit the activity’s answer or complete the lesson.
If the photo cannot be read
Choose an image up to 8 MB means the file is not a supported image or is too large. Remove it and choose a smaller image. Changing a document’s filename to end in .jpg does not make it a photo.
If you see Could not read this photo, use Try again on the preview, or remove it and take a clearer photo with more light. Check your connection if the request keeps failing. You can also type the relevant steps to keep the conversation moving.
If the problem continues, tell support which lesson you were in, the image format and size, and the message you saw. You do not need to attach your work to the initial support enquiry.
