Open Teaching, then Today
Sign in with the account you use for your school. In your learning home, open the course or profile icon in the navigation, then choose Teaching. Today opens the teaching conversation with Polly.
Teaching appears when your account has the teaching role. To use the conversation, you must also be assigned to a class as its teacher. If Teaching is missing or access is refused, ask your school administrator to check your account and class assignment.
Open GuildhaSay who needs what, and why
Name the student, their class, the change you need and the reason. For example: “Give Ana Lima in Reading 7A ten more minutes. Her connection dropped during the activity.” The chat looks within the classes you teach; if names are similar, clarify which student you mean.
You can also begin with Reopen a student’s exam or Give a student more time. Sending a request does not apply the change. Polly may ask for missing details before showing a proposal.
Check the proposal before deciding
Check the student and class. Under Which attempt, verify the activity, status and start date. A single eligible attempt may already be selected.
Then read the change, any extra minutes, and Reason (the student reads it). You can edit the reason before approving. Try the fictional example below.

Check the name, class and activity together. Similar names can belong to different students.
Illustrative proposal · No request is sent and no student record is changed.
Choose the action that fits
Reopen lets a student continue a closed attempt. A timed attempt that ran out of time needs extra minutes to reopen. Give more time adds minutes to a timed attempt that is in progress or paused.
Reset means the selected assignment attempt stops counting and the student can start again. It is different from continuing their current attempt. Read the action carefully, keep or edit the reason, and approve only the change you intend. Choose Don’t to leave it unchanged.
Wait for the result
Waiting for you means the proposal still needs your decision. Doing it means the request is being processed. Done confirms the change and says the student was told why. A chat reply by itself is not the same as a confirmed result on the card.
Not confirmed means the response was lost or could not be checked; it does not prove the action failed. Choose Check the attempts before deciding whether to try again. If the result is still unclear, contact support rather than repeatedly approving the same change.
If something is missing
No eligible attempt and attempts could not be read are different situations. With no eligible attempt, check the student, class and action. When loading fails, use Try again if it is offered. If the card cannot be shown, ask again with the student’s name and class.
If access or loading still fails, tell support which teaching step you reached and the exact message shown. Include your school and class if relevant. Never send a password or sign-in code, and avoid including student work that is not needed to explain the problem.
